Has anyone ever just done push-ups and sit-ups. Not going to the gym, just on your own maybe before bed. See any results?

I had a friend back in high school who did 300 push ups a day over a summer. His arms got bigger, nothing else really changed though.

Usher the singer does ALL body weight work outs.

it is possible, but will take more than just push ups and sit ups IMO.

do some free squats, try to do 25-50 in a row, until you can do about 100+ in a row.

jumping jacks, jump rope.

all these will help.

using body only can work, but takes more than just sit ups and push ups.

I've always heard Herschel Walker trained using only bodyweight exercises, and it seemed to work out OK for him. If it was good enough for Herschel, it will probably get you to where you hope to be.
