bluchers can be worn with or without socks making them a year round shoe and better choice IMO

Bluchers and boat shoes fill two different niches, imo. I love the bluchers I have (brogue) and wear them often, both with pants and jeans.

Get both.

Also, I tend to think of bluchers as being in contrast to balmorals, not in contrast to boat shoes....

those bluchers look like old man shoes, and i know a lot of us guys like to either slightly ride above, or lay low under whats really trendy and stick with classics --- but those are old man shoes, bordering SAS Factory territory.
