College student here, could really use some feedback

Don't even consider buying one of those blazers. They're made of polyester, and cut for middle-aged overweight men. A decent sport coat will easily consume your entire $400 budget, unless you get lucky on e-bay or the FS forum here. And you don't want to spend a single dollar on anything...

What is a good polo shirt brand. I need very high quality polos with real pearl buttons.

I feel the same way. I wear polo's for grillng, boating, yard work, etc. I buy them by the dozen, and throw them out regularly. The $15 version from Target or sporting goods stores lasts just as long and fits me better (I don't like the skin-tight modern cut).

College student here, could really use some feedback

imo you'd be better served by spending your $400 on a selection of quality button-down oxfords and a few pairs of nice jeans, rather than a single outfit. Are you going to wear the exact same thing to church every weekend? You really don't need a blazer for college. All you need to do is...

    Recommendations for a new lighter

I like Zippos, because they seem to be worth about what they cost. $20 gets you a heavy little hunk of metal, with a little bit of color or design if you want. I don't care how svelte these new Dupont electronic lighters are, I can't justify $150 for one. They're functionally identical to...

    What *don't* you wear?

*shrug* powdered wigs are totally classic too, but you won't find me in one. I find them as distasteful and effeminate as pink shirts

    What *don't* you wear?

I'm with you on that. My wife keeps trying to buy me pink dress shirts and polos, and I flat out refuse. I don't care how trendy it is, pink's for girls :bigstar:

    No Show Undershirts

You can walk into any store in the country and buy a 6 pack of Hanes cotton v-neck undershirts for $12. This is not a difficult problem to solve.

    Pants Fit (Urgent)

I'm no tailer, but it really looks like the pants are way too large. Like they took the pattern for a 36 and just nipped the waist down to a 32 (or whatever you measured at). Your thighs and ass are swimming in them :-(

Where to buy a proper pair of slacks in mid-town Manhattan?

you have to know what you're looking for. Do you want cotton or wool? If "like Dockers" means "made of cotton" then you won't be happy with Inco or Mabitex trousers either. In my mind a proper pair of dress slacks is made from wool. JCrew should have options, but watch out for inexpensive...

Borrelli shirts - really that good? Who really makes best shirts in world?

Is it possible these "new" Borrelli shirts are counterfeits?

Critiquing fit of suit for finance interviews

The only thing that's flat out wrong to my eye is the length of the trousers. Everything else looks fine.

Where can I acquire this leather jacket from? (UK)

It's just a normal cafe-racer style motorcycle jacket, and it looks two sizes too small.

What kind of physique do you need to look good in Tom Ford?

Reading F. Cordera's posts I'm glad to finally see a knowledgeable opinion that doesn't seem to drink the TF kool-aid. His designs seem cartoon-ish and overwrought to me; exactly the kind of marketing-driven fashion clothes that I came to Styleforum to learn how to avoid.

Incorrect pricing by Crockett & Jones

Recommend you adjust your panties and relax. The fact that you're trying to trash the reputation of a well known manufacturer and getting mocked should give you an idea what intelligent people think of customers like you.

    Need help buying first suit...

you don't want linen or cotton for your business suit. You want gray wool, possibly a summer-weight wool if you can find one. I would suggest checking out Neiman Marcus last call or a similar outlet for a bargain on a mid-high end OTR brand like Hickey Freeman.

Opinions on this gray suit for finance interviews?

in my opinion the color of that CK suit you bought is fine, but the cut may not be. It looks more like a trendy, fashion-forward model than a conservative business suit. Can you post a pic of yourself in it?

Which is more respectable: inkjet art prints of famous paintings, or oil painting reproductions of

Come on guy, neither one is respectable. Why do you want to own old, lifeless "art" anyway? because you think it will impress people? Don't be a douchebag...

What do you think of the idea of buying pants from a department store and have a tailor make the mat

and then, even if you could source the exact same fabric, it doesn't make any sense to pay the labor cost for a custom jacket made from a garbage Chinese wool blend.
