    Cordo-Hyde Lace????

Those are the only laces I use. They've been around forever, are durable and stay tied all day. That ebay price seems high, though. I pay $3 at my local cobbler.

Have you been tying your shoes wrong all these years?

You don't have to do that if you do the initial move correctly in the first place. He just starts the knot wrong by not crossing left over right for the initial overhand part, so he makes up for it with the goofy backwards wrap and loop part. Change my life? Psssh. I just changed it back to normal.

    thoughts on these shoes.......

For some reason, I only think of saddle shoes as being appropriate for schoolboys. The only suit I see these with is seersucker--maybe.

    Shoe trees

Same trees for $12.50 at JAB.

    Shoe trees

+1 on the JAB 3 for 1 deal. With shipping, it comes to about $10/pair. And as far as I can tell, they are the Woodlore full toe, which AE also sells here: http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF604_1_40000000001_-1

    Changing a belt buckle

I don't see why it can't be done, as long as the replacement buckle is the same width. Remove the current stitching, slip new buckle in with the tang through the existing hole, re-sew. If the new buckle is longer or shorter than the old, the fit of the belt might change a bit. I pay my...

Which of these basic patterns is your favorite for tweed cloth?

This is going to sound stupid, but could somebody please define "tweed" for me? What makes a fabric "tweed"? Using this poll as an example, what is the difference between a woven fabric with a houndstooth pattern and a houndstooth tweed? http://tinyurl.com/2cm9z6v

Help me choose my first sperry (color)

Sahara. I don't like the white sole of the others and prefer the laces that don't contrast so much.

    Joseph A Banks promotion question

Generally JAB's sales do not extend to shoes. The best deal I have seen on shoes there is to get the Executive card (or whatever it's called) and get 20% off. Fight On. Beat Kal.

    Looking for constructive criticism

You look good. Suspender buttons look and work better when spaced 4 inches apart.

    Spiderweb cracks on Shoe

The caps of my black leather lace-ups have small, spiderweb cracks. I don't think it's the leather that's actually cracking as the shoes are good quality, and fairly new. Instead, I think it's from too much polish. If I accidently scuff my shoe, or push on it, the cracking spreads out from the...

    Top 10 wingtips

recommendations for wingtips <$200?? Florsheim Imperial Kenmoor. Made in India. I got mine a year ago at the Florsheim Outlet for $160.00 shipped. Certainly not the best longwing you can buy, but good for the price. I added Vibrams and feel fine about wearing them in all weather conditions.

Paul Stuart Store Experience - Did sales guy ruin a $678 pair of shoes?

I don't care about minor creasing, but I would care if the shank was broken or disconnected. I don't know how these shoes are constructed, so don't know if that could be the case.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll make sure to ask for "The Manton" Not so fast, my friend.
