The high end Chinese Shoe Thread

thank you for your feedback. Since I merely pointed their lacking IG content, I was asking about experiences more than stating anything at this stage. How was yours?

The high end Chinese Shoe Thread

apologies for the slight hijacking. Re: Sons Of Henrey (ie. Oct. Tenth/Vekla). Has anyone heard of how this company is doing? IG is inactive since several months. I would appreciate an update, perhaps also if only OT or Vekla related (same owner). Thank you EDIT: clarification, Tom is only...

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

Singapore resident here. One thing to consider is that if working or going out, long walks outside are uncommon. Inside AC can be brutal, hence in elegant places I even wear a full suit to cover my upper body. I second the high twist and linen, both unlined, as a general recommendation.

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

re: Dudgale Lisburn Black Linen. I got my suit and I am liking it a lot. My takeaways. 1. if you hesitate like me on a black suit, linen is a great choice as it takes off the edge that wool may have, 2. DL is better than WB, as the latter is very refined, possibly taking a bit away from the...

slight OT: any reviews of the Greenfell trench coats? I ask specifically re: fabric thickness, overall length (like Burberry Heritage or longer?) and fit (slimmer than Burberry?)

I am having Dugdale Lisburn made and prefer it to my usual, formal, WBill choice. The black looks more charcoal.

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

I am not sure AdL is the best choice, for a casual coat certainly, but the softness of Italian linen might not hold a crease well. This being said, the feel of it, as with Maison Hellard, is beautiful and on the other side of the spectrum, WBill linen appears more formal due to the lack of...

I am very interested in these, contacted Rogna in Italian and they told they would get back to me, but to no avail until now. Is your tailor in Italy?

    OFFICIAL Simon Crompton thread (PermanentStyle.com)

I checked the accounts of Liverano for 2023, which are not under their real name so a tad convoluted. The margins are surprisingly low, so even though Veblen may be what happens at revenue level, at the end they need such ridiculous high pricing to survive. For your reference, in 2023 they made...

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

I have a question for loafers word sockless (ie. with invisible socks) for soneone with pale skin: is the dark brown suede loafer too much contrast?

    Ongoing Bespoke Projects

yes, but as it is linen, it appears lighter that midnight. I have several midnight wollen fabrics and this WB linen feels definitely lighter, as in veering into gray tones. Definitely nothing purple.

I react allergic to purple hues in blues, so relate to you. My WB dark navy certainly does not have any such thing. I think I have the 09 final.

High-twist wool with glen plaid pattern - okay for a sport coat?

I strongly vouch against such a suiting fabric to be used in such a setting. I have a casual jacket in fresco glen plaid and I don't like it at all, hence wasted.
