PSA: I think everyone is missing out if you have not tried the Londoner II collar yet. I had always used president spread, but after trying the Londoner on my most recent order it is the only collar I will use going forward.

In relation, does anyone have experience with a good substitute for the Cortina vest in terms of style? I can't believe there aren't similar vests on the market for less than $350.

Proper Cloth - Official Affiliate Thread

Does anyone have experience with the English Spread collar and can compare it to the President spread? I've mainly used the president spread but find that when unbuttoned the points tend so sit fairly wide due to their length. I'm curious if the English spread, with its shorter points, will sit...

Collar looks nice, it is wider and not as high as I would expect. What I dislike about the president spread, which is the only collar I have tried so far, is that it is not very vertical and stands wider than I would like. Does anyone know if the Milano (II?) collar helps here?

I honestly think PC just needs to introduce a reinforced placket option.

Proper Cloth - Official Affiliate Thread

My thoughts are that the problem is caused by the placket (both button and hole sides) are too thin. The shirts I have that stand up much better all have reinforced/stiffer plackets which helps collar stand up straight. Anyone else have thoughts on this? I would love to see PC add a stiff...

May take me a few days but I'll get a photo up. I was expecting the fabric to be bunched up, but you can't see any noticeable difference.

I just received my first shirt changing to the 3 pleat - it does give you a little more room but visually I don't think it is noticeable at all. I was also surprised to find that the 3rd pleat is added to the underside of the forearm instead of stacking onto the top.

^true to his name. I can respect it. Ok, assume reinforcing the collar with a white accent fabric then.

Has anyone experimented with the collar accent option? I almost pulled the trigger on the blue paisley inside the collar but wasn't sure how loud it would be. I'm also wondering if it adds some extra substance to help the collar stand up under a jacket better.

I did get a shirt with the light blue herringbone cotton/linen blend, but with a soft president collar. Let me say, if you are thinking about ordering a shirt with the fabric, do it. It's my favorite shirt by far. The soft president spread works great on it as well.

Thanks, was planning on doing a standard soft placket. I'm only curious to how many inches should be added to chest and waist to make a slightly more relaxed, but not baggy look. I'm not sure if there is a standard to go on.. I'm also torn between going Ivy BD, or doing a president collar...

I've been ordering some dress shirts from PC and have nailed a good slim fit down. I'm interested in ordering some casual/linen shirts as well, how would y'all recommend adjusting my measurements to compensate for a casual shirt that could be worn tucked or untucked?

I've got an order with the updated President II collar on the way. Curious to see how it stacks up - my experience thus far has been with the president stiff collar.

What is the overall opinion of the stiff vs the standard collars, functionally speaking? I bought one of the lighter blue twills and with a stiff president, and I almost feel like the collar is too heavy for the fabric to support it when worn open and is difficult to keep upright.

I've received my first proper cloth shirt and was hoping for some guidance on fit. The shirt has about 3" too much fabric in the midsection with no darts. I would like to add the darts option to my next shirt while also making the midsection slimmer overall. Can anyone give input on what changes...

Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread - reviews, pictures, sizing, etc...

Hi, I've got a pair of bourbon Strands that I'm working on to darken up a bit. I'm applying Meltonian dark brown cream polish, but I'm wondering if there is another shade anyone would recommend adding to the mix to bring in some character? Possibly red, navy or green - curious to hear some of...
