    What are you reading?

My Dad was a big Alistair MacLean fan so I read them all as well. That guys could write a tight story. Lots of paperback in our house. Funny how his Harold Robbins books always opened to the same pages when set on the spine…

    What are you reading?

Alan Furst writes WWII espionage novels. Very atmospheric. Kerr writes a series about a German detective in postwar Berlin. The first three were excellent but I stopped after that.

    What are you reading?

Yeah, I think it’s always been that way. Jim Thompson was good if a little too violent. I stopped reading James Ellroy as he go too sadistic.

    What are you reading?

Chandler and Hammet are sublime. Timeless writing. Ever read Alan Furst or Phillip Kerr? I read Furst in black and white like a Noir movie from 1942.

What is the proper fit for leather loafers?

I would just exchange for another pair and point out the deficiencies.

You're a nobody in this town unless you ride in a black SUV with earpiece-wearing Goons. Actually, the Secretary of Agriculture was there and had a few relaxed security guys escort him.

Jacket is very thick linen but shirt and pants are very breathable. I tend to run hot. I mentioned the theater was warm but my wife was wrapped in one of the blankets they provided. Received quite a scowl.

Official: STAR WARS THREAD. These are the droids you're looking for. **WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

Saw Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma on stage last night in Macbeth here in DC. They both simply chewed up the scenery and the play was amazing. Took me a bit to remember she was in the Star Wars Obi Wan show as well. Review is outside the paywall...

Heading to see Macbeth tonight. Different experience with the play held at on old studio up around Union Market with food trucks on hand for chow. Should be an epic production. Ascot Chang linen jacket from The Armoury, Zegna linen shirt, Brioni linen pants, C&J dark brown suede loafers.
