    I had an observation today. To keep my leather shoes fresh I have not worn them very often. Sperry CVO shoes have a flat bottom. They are BOAT shoes! They are really not all that comfortable as streetwear. Anyone else? I image that a lot of flat bottomed trainers can become uncomfortable.

    Wear the black cap toe oxfords. Don't overthink it. I wore a pair to my wedding many years ago with an ivory dinner jacket with shawl collar and navy wool trousers with an added stripe of silk fabric.

    I was reading one of my old Church's pamphlets. They said it is a highly waxed treatment. You can polish it but do not use leather cleaners with spirits. Mine are over twenty four years and still looking good.

    I would not send them across the Atlantic. I see nothing special in adding rubber to the soles of shoes. That is nothing I would ever want to do. In my experience with local cobblers they can all replace heels.
