thats what i thought but couldn't take the pain. put some thin inersoles in the 1K's and some a little thicker in the RW's. up until about 2 years ago i never had any problems. maybe just getting old or sumptin?- loug

put some insoles in my RW's and they've been sitting since the Thorogoods arrived. Throgoods came with really comfortable insoles so did the Chippewa steel toed, water proof and insulated boots. Both are American made too. Unlike the 1K's and RW's these boots were comfortable out of the box...- loug

i've noticed this also. what might be happening is manufacturers are compensating for the differences in foot sizes, right usually being a tad larger. worked out here being the right foot is a little larger than the left.- loug

have a pair of RW round toe and the right is noticeably wider/larger. don't think its the boot as much as its the foot.- loug

same problem here with the right boot. emailed wolverine about another issue with these 1K's and they said to go back to where i bought them. hopefully i'll be able to wear them in the spring and summer if not they're a size 12 D, good shape. anyone interested? can send/post pics if needed.- loug

Welp the Thorogood 6" arrived and they're on with the thickest pair of boot socks i have and they fit the way i'm used to boots fitting. granted, it's a little early but judging by the closeness of the lace-up there is plenty of room for loosening as the feet swell. D's are no longer an option...- loug

agree but if they were the usual 13 they would be a size too long. this might have been the better way to go, on the big side is better than too small. the size 12 D length fits like other 13 D lengths. a 13 D would have definitely been a better choice. but the longer fit of the 13 would...- loug

actually the EE's haven't arrived. i've always worn D with room to spare and the EE's are only being tried to see if the fit is better. also have always worn heavy socks with all boots. these socks can not be worn with the 1K's, the length is good, 12 vs the normal 13, but the width is too...- loug
