Gorgeous peak-lapel tuxedo from J Press in a traditional cut, plus a matching silk cummerbund - everything you need for a black tie rig except a bowtie and shirt.
Tagged size 40s, but I'm a 40R and it's about right for me.
A traditional American cut - straight body, single vent, flap pockets, moderately padded shoulders, handsome wide lapels, lower gorge than an Italian cut; very flattering for the right body type.
Done up in a nice fine worsted wool that has a little texture, but doesn't call too much attention to itself; should look great under flash photography. Union-made in the USA.
Trousers have the proper grosgrain stripe covering the outseam, a smooth waist (no belt loops or side tabs) so they'll sit comfortably under the cummerbund, and buttons for suspenders inside the waistband. Currently plain-hemmed to a 30.5" inseam, with about 4" to let out.
Perfect for someone looking for a very well made, more conservatively styled tuxedo for far less than you'd pay retail.
Picked this up cheap at Alfargo's Marketplace in NYC on a whim when J Press had an archive pop-up, before realizing the shoulders didn't sit quite right on me. Catch-and-releasing for what I paid (retails new for over $1k), never worn except to try on. Stored on its original curved hanger in a smoke-free, pet-free home.
