I recently bought a pair of chinos from Pickings & Parry - Buzz Rickson "Original Fit". They're a nice mid-high rise and a straight cut. The Informale ones are good too. Obviously both are a lot pricier than Uniqlo however.

Sounds good for Canberra, maybe too warm for Sydney afternoon, but fine at night.

Do you mean in person? You can order swatches from various companies. The easiest place to get swatches from is Huddersfield Fine Worsteds. They mail it to you for free (takes a couple of weeks).

Loden shoes - what to wear them with?

Is it this colour? https://milohshop.com/products/carmina-loden-suede-jumper-boots-oscar-last If I had to choose trousers to go with that, Black corduroy would be my first choice I think. I can see how black jeans (depending on how dark they are) might end up with a too similar color value.

I quite like the cut of my Informale jeans. Mid-high rise, roomy top block, straight-ish leg. Both hands fit in pockets easily without it being tight in the seat.

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

I haven't worn them out yet, as I received them at the beginning of Summer in Australia. We're starting to tip into the cooler weather now so I will get the chance shortly. All your points on what to wear them with are good - my issue is that the pants aren't very flexible in my wardrobe...

I've had good results in both tailoring and shirts from The Finery Company, via Melbourne Trunk shows.

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

I have trousers in Fresco 510388 (mottled mid-grey) from the Lite, Fancies 2 & 3ply bunch and a Standeven Explorer as well (but Super 120s 240g). The standeven trousers were actually my first proper bespoke order ever. I picked the cloth because it had better color variegation than the heavier...

    Ongoing Bespoke Projects

I haven't worn daks before myself, but I'm curious - usually you're given one extra button, maybe ~1 inch forward of the resting button? As that is 1 inch from each side does it feel like a big difference, or does the elastic in the back give it a bit of ease?

    The Bespoke Shoes Thread

I posted earlier in the thread about my first bespoke experience with a local shoemaker here. The issue I had was the final fitting shoe seemed to fit well, and the initial try on (without the sock liner/heelpad) seemed good but the final delivery the shoes were uncomfortable, particularly in...

I am by no means a cloth expert but I have a jacket in AIT-001 and I have the same view of my cloth - cloth looks fantastic and is lovely to wear.

Jenny Fei, top dr do all in the c b d. Saved many of my garments in the past few years - knits and woven A few years ago my summer jacket had a rip and ~60 pulled threads of varying degrees from my friend's cat going to town on it. Wouldnt even know it happened now. I only know where the damage...

They have quite a strong inwards curve in the toebox. I have duck shaped feet so the curve cuts into my pinky toe on my right foot. Should probably sell my pair, as I don't find them comfortable. Jose Zarpan as well. Mila works from home in the Balaclava area now. TFC no longer do MTM but...
