Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW!

The Westside is a godforsaken hellscape. However, people do talk about driving directions a lot here. That part is 100% true.

The venison recipe is from the Nopi book. Making homemade labneh, stem ginger peanut cacao crumble, the whole 9.

Tonight's lineup. Probably only one taker for the Sauternes, hence the 375. Skeptical of the Ruinart, but we shall see. Dinner is a venison recipe from Ottolenghi with rose harissa carrots on side.

Bowhill and Elliott makes a very serviceable opera pump. EG has one I believe. One day I'd like to get the St Crispins calf opera pump. Very lovely shoe.

The owners of Panda Express opened their own little bromakase / japanese-western abomination here in Pasadena. $200 or so a head. We tried it out of morbid curiosity. We probably shouldn't have done it one week after returning from a Tokyo trip fueled by Michelin kaiseki. So many bros.

I really don't. I think that's a nice picture. He's got a nice smile and it's a welcoming pose. I think you (and probably many) like the language the picture is speaking. But its not an outfit I would wear and I don't think suits look good without ties. Suits without ties are simultaneously...

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

If we are talking about nerdy looks - exposed suspenders scream nerd to me far more than anything else we are discussing here. When I think of a guy in exposed suspenders I think of like..... someone who thinks its cool to look like a bartender circa 2005. Its a very "Milady" look. A more...

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

I'll get a couple points out of the way first. I've mentioned them before and it always feels like I'm going crazy; seems like they are self evident to me. - What looks "good" on fit or beautiful people should not be used as a basis for what constitutes good dress. Not only because good looking...

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

All this talk of jackets off at weddings has little to do with Black Tie or age - its simply that most men never wear classic tailoring. To most men these days a suit of any kind is almost a costume. Men take their jackets off in droves because they are poorly fit, poorly made, uncomfortable...
