I don't really think these pants are working.

I really like this. Makes me want it to warm up already.

Today, had to dress up a little for work-related things, but no need for a tie:

Sore neck and lack of attention to blinking light means check out the maroon lining!

Without scarf, because it was warmer than I thought (click for shoes and socks):

Thick as Thieves midnight navy suit
H&M shirt, IIRC
Shoes are some old burgundy wingtips and I honestly don't remember what brand--eBay, as usual. Probably Allen Edmonds.
Scarf was from UO, I think

And my random Philly snapshot of the day:

Aww, sauce, you almost had it. A skinny tie would have made that perfect.

All my ties are skinny! I just didn't want to wear one (and didn't have to).

Also decided against a pocket square, mostly because the color of the suit is so deep and I didn't want to break up that awesome expanse of dark navy, and also because it feels weird to wear one without a tie. Good decision or no?

I think good decision. I'm all for pocketsquares, but sometimes a fit is just fine without one. I think the penchant for always wearing a ps on this forum gets a bit over zealous.

That's later this month. The planning is in the works.

For that, I feel I will need a pair of overalls. Can someone recommend me a good pair of raw, selvage, MIJ denim overalls?

A round-neck tee should work. You could also play around with a button-up under the shawl..

The pants and shirt are both Converse One Star at Target. I got the shirt on sale for $14.

Well there's your problem right there.

There are plenty of guys on SuFu with great style, but 98% of the posts on SuFu are just noise. Pay attention to the guys there you actually admire, other than that, I wouldn't sweat it.

Everything fits great and you're not trying to look too hip. You look good, well dressed and very bad ass

To me it does look a bit feminine. The fit itself isn't bad, but it could be tweaked a bit.
