Aren't the spread out designs on a solid field known as 'pines'?

Here's a dandy:

This one is a bit much for me, although I would probably still grab it!

Some of these are really, really awful. You know who you are. If you insist I name names, I will.

The only ones I like are the ones where you have to look closely to see that the pattern is paisley, which I think explains why I only have one (a gift) and never wear it.

Manton,

What type of paisley tie would you suggest wearing with this paisley coat?

I'm curious as to which ones you don't like. It seems as if taste in paisleys vary widely through the forum, even among the sartorially knowledgable.

Here is another one I like, one of my own.

I oft admire the intricate persian pickles, but when it comes to wearing it out of the house I just cannot manage. I think a more widely spaced, pool-of-sperm look would be more my style.

Feisty!

I'd probably wear it on an evening out with the boys at the local pub.

I have just had a revelation that I do not own nearly as much paisley as I should! ... there goes that bank balance again for this month!

I love the three right-most ones.

Smaller paisley patterns just remind me of protozoa.
