Best Tailor in Chicago for Alterations?

I have an old wool overcoat from Norton & Sons that requires quite a few adjustments. The garment is fairly expensive, so I am a bit hesitant to take it to an unskilled tailor.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a tailor in Chicago experienced in making complicated adjustments to expensive bespoke garments?

Thanks,

ET

Isn't he now "closed" to alteration work from non-bespoke or existing customers?

Despos. As you already know he is normal and kind, and doesn't
have any attitude or give you grief.

If it was pants, there is a guy local to me in wheaton who is good and if it was leather a lady in yorktown.

I really don't think there is anyone else, I had a horrendous experience at Richard Bennett Tailors and would never recommend them again.

The others I know about are Boguslaw but many don't like his attitude, there was tailors touch but the online reviews made me a bit scared to take something nice.

At one time there was a mom and pop tailor in the 120 Lasalle Bank Building that were trained by the big studios for wardrobe and he worked on a jacket that was several decades old for me and it was fantastic but I think they are gone now.

Despos is a great guy and a member here, who posts often.

Why not PM him with your specific requirements and questions?

I'll bet he would be glad to help or would point you in the right direction.

I have used Boguslaw recently and was happy with his work.

I have used Tails on Wells, and was not as satisfied, despite getting a good recommendation from a friend (perhaps my results were not the norm, but I will not be going back to find out).

I am not familiar with Tailor's Touch.

Maria Tesseris at Golden Needle (814 North State Street). PM me and I'll give you my name to use as a reference (she has a lot of regulars and loves referrals).

He is, but he does decent work. Reminds me of the Will Farrel character from Zoolander.
