It's not necessarily that I want them to fade so I am abstain from washing them. The chinos do have a disclaimer on them that says wear as long as possible without washing, but that's not to stop someone from washing whenever they want. I honestly just don't feel it's necessary to wash as often as most people do. I wash once it becomes necessary or once the item gets dirty.

chinos, and most cotton pants will develop whiskers and fading with wear, but it wont be contrasty like indigo. My question when reading this thread... why oh why does everything have to be "slim"? Tailoring slim fitting chinos to get them even skinnier... dont you guys know fashion goes towards a looser silhuette again?

Just as an FYI, some RL khaki's are quite slim fit already. I don't know which models (shill alert), but I am currently selling a pair in size 30 that have a 7.5 inch leg opening, a 9.75-10 inch rise and an 8.5-8.75 inch knee. If you need a pair of size 30 dress pants to be slimmer than that, then you will need to get khaki spandex.

Mine really haven't faded that much in most areas, but they did fade somewhat on the inner ankles where the legs rub together. But I'm also only at like 1 month of wear. I'm not necessarily after a faded look but probably more of a well loved look.
