Just got there at the very end, after seminars and raffle. Saw Rider, AK, Manton, dah, Andy of course.

Rider's own line was very nice. Martegani make but American-style lasts.

+1. I was impressed by his boots. Some really cool designs (that summer spectator boot was great)

Rider also has shell in rare colors that hardly anyone else seems to have, like Whiskey, Mahogany, Natural, and #6. Nice stuff.

Not sure about pricing but he said he does have a small inventory of boots for sale in addition to MTO

They seemed not outrageous--I won't speak for Ron as my memory is inexact here--but I would also agree that they look great, in particular the chukkas. Not too sleek (although he had some that were very sleek), and not too bulbous. Also, the martegani shoes look quite nice in person. A broad range of lasts and styles and Ron was an interesting guy. Much younger than I had imagined.

As always, it was nice to see SF members, including gdl203, KentWang, Manton, and emptym briefly. I guess I missed a few more of you--had to run as we had guests coming over.

The April in Paris things looked nice. Now I have to fight the urge to buy a custom crocodile toothpick case.

I think the hate for Seaward & Stearn is misplaced. Based on what I saw last year, they really do a great job of designing fantastic silk patterns and the weaving is of the highest quality. Some of the patterns are over the top, but many are beautiful and perfect. About the only thing I didn't like was the penchant for a construction that made a bulked up knot. I imagine that can be changed, either by the lining, or more likely, by a narrower pattern.
