Ran over to Barneys Warehouse sale at lunch today for a jacket I think I'd changed my mind on. It was gone, or hidden. I came across a whole bunch of "hidden" stuff walking around. Very annoying.

Anyway, shirts and casual outerwear is now an additional 25% off. Tagged suits are now 40% off.

There are some bargains to be had in sportcoats, but nothing that I wanted in my size.

Barneys will be done. Last day is Sunday.

Who knows. I could imagine there being some, but I have low expectations for the sale this time.

Barneys is now 25% off ties (I think the house label ties have greatly improved, but still are not cheap), 50% casual wear, 75% red star trousers (a lot of boss and Varvatos) still 40% off tagged tailored clothing, and now 40% off shoes. I picked up a pair of suede chukkas which I think were a good value.

Any idea what's up with the irregular/orphaned section? I might go pick up some odd trousers tomorrow AM.

I didn't check. You could get some pretty decent deals on the bargain bin trousers, if you can find something.

There are a couple of Barbera suits in charcoal, gray, and pinstripe at Filene's on Union Square, from 38S to 42 if I remember well. Price would be ~$800 after their Monday discount.

However, I tried to feel the lining on chest and it felt as if it was kind of fused (the cloth and lining was not going apart easily; it also felt rather thick). Does Barbera make fused suits or is it just my newbies ignorance? The label was greenish and it said "Blancs" in the crest.

These suits are always at various Filene's and are both fused and way overpriced. The fusing is really, really stiff on them.

I'm not going and I've never been because they seem to always have these on week days. I don't fully understand the rationale and find that really stupid given that PS = mostly business clothes, but hey I don't run Soiffer Haskin...

I think it's to keep it quiet, to be honest. PS seems to have a complicated relationship with any kind of sale.

I'll be there Tuesday morning, but don't expect to buy anything, or much, until later in the week.
