So many beautiful watches, so little money to buy them all.

Thanks. I fell in love with it at first sight. I think you can admire a watch as an independant object in a way that doesn't apply to clothes, no matter how nice they are. Well, you could stare at a pair of shoes for a while, but that's a different story.

Your new pair is really snazzy. I'm not sure how I'd wear them myself, but as a closed universe they exhibit great taste. I admit that black dial watches are not the easiest to pair with my clothes. However, I most enjoy them in and of themselves, so I make do somehow.

Nice - I try the BP once a month at my local watch dealer, maybe one day.

At the moment I'm torn between the IWC SS Ingeniuer Auto & the new Rolex SS GMT IIc..

Have you seen both in person? I personally find Rolex case finishing pretty abysmal. On the other hand, the Ingeniuer case finishing is immensely complex and executed immaculately.

Of course, case finishing isn't everything. The GMT II is a nice watch. My personal Rolex favorites are the Explorer I and the Submariner/Seadweller.

I agree - I would personally choose the Ingeniuer as well.

The 'Big Ingeniuer', on the other hand, is an awful, awful abomination. It represents everything wrong with IWC today.

I know - its a big watch only for the sake of being big

I have the same opinion of the JLC Reverso Squadra.

Not just that--the Big Ingenieur betrays the most distinctive feature of past Ingenieurs: anti-magnetism! It's all for show.

I don't like the Reverso Squadra either. I think they got it right with the Grande Date. It's bigger, but not that big, and the details are consistent with past Reversos. The Squadra adds in odd angles here and there. Not good.

@ mafoofan
- I agree about the older Rolex cases, but the new GMT IIc with the ceramic bezel is a BIG improvement, especially the band & the clasp.
- & yes I have tried them on & agree about the finish on IWC ( I used to have the Fliegerchronograph)

The one with the ceramic bezel & horrible dial is also bad.
