5-10% is all you'll likely get. With a good relationship I never got more than 15% off. Also buy out of state if possible to save sales tax.

I'd say Ross Simon's is a pretty good place to by a Rolex. They are an authorized retailer (never buy from someone who isn't) and you can haggle there. Of course, if you have a relationship and have bought from them in the past, you can get more off, but you should be able to work about 10% off if you've ever bought a car and know the very basics of negotiation.

The other plus is 18 months of no-interest credit... which is free money for 18 months, and given inflation, comes out to another 5%-7% off (given market projections). What can I say, I am that cheap.

I am not sure where you are from but here in NY if you know the right people you can get anywhere from 15-35% off depending on the type of Rolex that you are buying.

You are correct.

Real Rolex - 5-15% off
Fake Rolex - 35-50% off

Kurt,

A lot depends on which model you want. Look on the buying and selling forum of TimeZone.com. There can be some good bargains there from reputable sellers, if you do your research. That said, I just bought a GMT from Tivol in KC, and they shipped it to me.

100% it is possible to get 30%+ off of an Authentic Rolex in NYC. If you know anyone in the Diamond district, and that's tough to break into, but I know someone who is getting me a Rolex Air King for around $1500

Unless you're offering to get one for him, how does that info help the OP?
