Shisheido for men is actually pretty good. I use Revive and have a monthly appointment with my Russian esthetician. It works!

I've only been able to find it online. The company is British (I believe), so you might find an actual store that carries this line if you're in England.

that's weird, I thought Cetaphil was "made by dermatologists" or something.

Is using a toner really essential?

This mensessentials says you should always tone after cleansing, but frankly it kind of sounds a bit overkill unless it's after a workout.

Sometimes I think all this stuff is bullshit. I only use a cleanser and my face hasn't fallen off.

Maybe I'll start using a light moisturizer.

I heard the St. Ives apricocot scrub maeks you break out because it has some sort of shells in it. It makes my skin feel fabulous though.

I spent around $2000 last year trying out different skin products to clear up my skin. I've finally found a system that works. I shower twice a day and I use microfibre Norwex clothes to clean my face. I don't use any cleaners. The clothes do an excellent job cleaning my skin. One note of caution is that it's importnat not to scrub your face as that can irritate the skin. After my shower, I pat my skin dry and apply an aloe based moisturizer. That's all I do. No more toners, exfoliators, scrubs, and face soaps for me. It got to a point where I think they were doing more harm than good.

The plain version will. The "Medicated" version, which is hilariously named and just contains salicylic acid, will not. Standard AHA chemical exfoliant. I find that scrub entirely too rough for my face, though. I use it as a cheap body scrub from time to time.

You can use it as a spot treatment for pimples or a weekly mask. Olay (Olay Deep Cleansing Clay Mask) has a good mask that sells for about $6. You can also go to stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls and buy general spa clay masks for around $3-7. Look for kaolin clay, bentonite, seaweed, kelp, etc. in the ingredients list of clay masks. These ingredients are needed for an effective weekly mask (tighten pores, rid oil, alleviate skin).
btw, I've been looking for that Olay clay mask at several stores (walgreens, cvs, etc) and even if they have tons of Olay stuff I can never find it. Should I be looking somewhere in particular?

Hmm, I see the mask at Target and Walmart if that helps. I haven't gone to the drugstores to see if they carry it (which they should...Olay has a huge line).

If you can't find them at physical stores, try www.drugstore.com and purchase it off the site. Low shipping costs and lots of products go on sale from time to time.

blank -- glad to hear things are working!

Skin care is an interesting thing. Some products works great on some people's skin and not so well on others (due to sensitivity and other issues). Everyone will find a regime that will suit their personal needs.

And of course beautiful skin is achieved inside and out -- proper nutrition and exercise is needed.
