Those Polo Doughboys are ridiculously perfect. I don't think I've ever seen such a classic black captoe boot. It's taller than most boots in its class as well.

Yeah, they really are great boots (solid and heavy too). It took me awhile to decide if I wanted to part with them, but I've got so many pairs of Alden boots in my rotation that the Polo's would have never been worn.

jet, you know any good spots in LA for stuff like c&j and alden?

I believe that Firenze shoes in Pasadena, which carries a lot of more traditional brands in the mid-high pricepoint, carries Alden. Not sure where else.

If they carry Alden, don't expect anything cool....the shoes I've seen there werent very interesting looking, and I didnt even bother looking at the brands

Carroll & Co. on Lake doesnt carry Alden *I think*...i the one in Bev Hills does, never been there but it sounds like it's also not a good selection.

Basically, you're not gonna find cordo Indy boots, longwings, chukkas, or any other boot/shoe that this forum tends to gravitate towards.

The best selection of Alden in SoCal is gonna be Brooks Bros rebadged cordovan shoes.

Barneys used to carry a decent selection of C&J but not for a while.

I have no more boots to sell son!

Re: Tetbury's - I think you might be able to get them in a few other colors, but you'd have to call the London shop.
