I just purchased two new pairs of Alfred Sargents (a burgundy "Adams" tassel moc and a black "Wabash" balmoral oxford) for $125/pair. The seller is Cary Weinstein in Chicago, who used to own Cary's Footwear in the Palmer House Hilton (and, before that, he owned the local Church's store). He is selling his inventory and still has a lot of shoes left!

As I recall, he has some Italian made stuff but I cannot recall the brands...I'll need to check the flyer from his old store that he mailed to me.

I checked Cary's brochure. The non-Alfred Sargent stuff appears to be made for them in Spain, Italy and Mexico and sold under Cary's own name.

A couple of ties this past weekend: one yellow Hermes for $0.99 and a tan/navy patterned Gucci for $2.00.

I saw a nice navy BB performance polo, but too small. A couple of NWT Ralph Lauren polos, but I'm not a fan of those. Saw a blue Dior business shirt that tempted, but I had no idea of the brand's quality these days. So I passed on those.

I did find a pair of Church's shoe trees, size 7.5-9. I grabbed them even though they are not my size, but it turned out they are too big for my wife's shoes. Could anybody use these?

Here are the Ralph Lauren/Polo loafers I picked up the other day. What do you guys think - shell cordovan or not? They also have sturdy, thick soles. Any suggestion as to the manufacturer? C&J? Edward Green? Someone else?

Anyone familiar with Alexandre House For Fine Tailoring Made in England? I just found a vintage skinny lapel 3 button sack suit in heavy charcoal flannel. It apears to be very well made with hand stiched buttonholes and full canvas construction. Also included 2 pair of pants and the most amazing part was that it was my size 46L. I'll have to let the cuffs out of the pants to get the extra 2 inches I need but otherwise it's in perfect condition.
