So much better than the unwatchable OC
and I think Blake Lively is a cutie, in a real life you could meet this girl kind of way
Looks like it's a "hit" for WB so I'm confident we'll be seeing a few more seasons of it.

Yeah its based on the book series aimed at "young adults" (like totally at teen girls).

This review sucks though, basically it's some sort of school dramedy about rich Upper East Side girls and boys and lots of bitchiness and backstabbing ensues. Writing is quite good and it's filmed on location. Gossip girl is the name of a mysterious blogger who publishes the dirt about this demi-monde and that's often where the characters learn that, say; their boyfriend was seen with another chick (the slut!!!). The series starts when Serena (main character and society darling/it-girl) is sighted coming back to NYC after a mysterious one year stint at a private school in bumfuck Iowa (or wherever she was that wasn't NYC). You'll slowly discover why she left and all the entangled relationships that are the series bread and butter. The first eps has a girl texting for help while she's fending of a date-******, so I'm pretty sure no sane person can dislike it.
