Quoted for preservation before the inevitable editing in the morning.

My Cali allocations are starting to trickle in. I had about 10 cases arrive in the last two weeks.

At $29 I think it is a pretty good quality to price ratio (QPR).

Does the combination of bourbon and beer always cause you to hallucinate?

Made myself a Vesper (the truest of the Bond martinis). Didn't like it, and dumped it, but decided to stay wth Lillet blanco and went for a Montenegro. Better, but still didn't like it.

Speaking of Lillet, there is a lovely thing you can do with Lillet Rouge, called a Lillet Kiss -- 1/3 glass Lillet, fill with a Brut or an Extra Dry sparkling wine, as suits your pleasure. Serve with an orange twist spritzed on the surface. Quite lovely.

I am, at this very moment, having a cocktail I learned from my mother. I don't know what it's called - but it's orange juice poured over Glenlivet and a spoonful of frozen limeade concentrate. Glenlivet isn't good enough to drink on its own, but it makes for a fantastic smokey taste in this whisky sour-like concoction, and it's delicious.

Sitting by a blazing fireplace, no less. I'm living the good life right now.
