You said PAM112, right? AKA the black dial base model. That shouldn't be too hard to find. Mostly you have to wait a long time for the higher demand models which are usually the newer releases.

Actually, the historic classic models (PAM111 and PAM112) are the ones that fly off the shelves the quickest, not the newer releases (unless we're talking low production special editions). It is indeed difficult to find a historic Marina or Base in a store, but they receive shipments on a regular basis - so you should ask your AD to either hold one for you or call you right away next time he gets a shipment.

Or you can buy a NIB, LNIB or NM watch from someone on Paneristi or TZ

I feel that the 2nd hand and even grey market of Panerai are so closely priced to the orginal retail that it would seem more fulfilling to order one in the store, wait 1-2 weeks and then pick it up when it comes in than to find some dude selling his online for a couple hundred bucks below retail and buy it online from him.
If you go to Tourneau they can also locate the model you want in one of their other stores and bring it a lot faster than going to a single store AD and waiting for it to be ordered.

I bought all of my watches but two from other collectors or grey market dealers. I actually like the idea of buying from another collector - you get to meet new people. I have this Radiomir GMT I bought from a very cool guy in Holland. He wore it to his wedding, I wore it to my wedding. From time to time, he comes to NYC and we grab a bite to eat - he asks about the watch... The watch has its own history I guess

Also, NIB and LNIB are not really second hand in my opinion

Do you have another Panerai? I thought yours wasn't the logo model.
Oh wait, you have a Radiomir, right?

That's a lovely "Explorer" dial. I like the vintage myself:

Gdl, did you swap out the original black hands for gold ones?
