FWIW, I find the watch linked in the OP really ugly. IMO, all the other watches posted in this thread look nicer than that one (yes whacked - even the Poljot

)

I personally disagree with the advice to buy a Timex. Don't settle for something you don't really want and are not proud of wearing. There are nice watches at every possible price point in the spectrum (see the <$400 watch thread) so decide on a budget and find one you really like in that budget.

I'd rather wear no watch than a "transitional" Timex I never really wanted but bought while saving for another watch.

Street price for the Archimede Pilot is more like $400 though; used ones pop up on TZ/PMWF from time to time for ~$330. Sorry I wasn't clear enough.

thank you very much whacked.

Hamilton Khaki Action Chrono: seller accuratewatch on eBay has the best prices. Here's an example.

Archimede Pilot: buy it here or directly from the manufacturer.

I've heard that with some companies, Tissot for example, that internationally purchased items must be serviced in the country that the watch was manufactured in. I had a friend who purchased a Tissot in Switerzland and they wouldn't let him service it in the US because they claimed it used different parts. I like the Seiko 5 in the beige too. I think having both wouldn't be too bad.

Yes. Just perform a feedback check on the seller and see what type of warranty is included. The latter should not be a deal-breaker though, as Seiko 5 autos are designed to be beat around / used and abused (as the line's target audience are mens who only own 1 watch at any given time).
