keanu reeves.
does anyone come close?

I have seen this actor in several movies (I haven't paid for any of them), including the other night Matrix which is a piece of teenage/student-fan dreck, and each time I can't believe how wooden and/or hammy his performance is.

Can anyone surpass his badness?

I cannot think immediately of another, worse, actor. I suffered him in a movie with Al Pacino in it. Forget the name. There must be one, at least as equally as bad. A name will come to me........

Is it for movies only or does it include TV actors?

If the latter, David Caruso gets the top prize

If the former, I'd say Mel Gibson is a strong contender

I also assume we're only discussing actors who seriously consider themselves as actors, not the likes of Steven Seagal, J-C Vandamme or Chuck Norris... Otherwise, these guys have a pretty strong lead on Keanu

Jake LLoyd as Anikin Skywalker in the "Phantom Menace." Yes, he's a kid, but that's no excuse for the terrible acting. I cringed every time the little **** was on screen... which was 3/4 of the movie.

More "serious" actors, though... umm... Kurt Russel.

I know lots of folks disagree, but I think Nicholas Cage is unbearably bad, pretty much on the same level as Reeves.

Fair point. But I wouldn't know about the others above as I have never seen them in a movie.

I failed to add that I gave the movie 25 minutes before bailing. Awful, simply awful.

I think they are both more than bearable. Keanu was good in Matrix, Bill and Ted and as Johnny Utah. Nic Cage was good in Raising Arizona, Lord of War and the airplane convict movie. If you don't like either, you can always move to Pakistan

Patrick Swayze comes to mind, although he has some semblance of personality as opposed to Keanu whom I cannot distinguish from a cardboard cut-out.

Nicholas Cage gets my vote as the worst. I can't figure out how he keeps getting roles.

If you really want a good chuckle, check out Keanu Reeves in "Much Ado About Nothing"--yikes.
He single-handedly ruined "Constantine" for me (was a big fan of the Hellblazer comics, a shame that they couldn't have cast someone else).
