Does nothing personally for me (as do any of their other non-square face watches, except for GDL's B&RxSinn). For a bit more you can get one of the square faced pieces which is what B&R's current statement is all about. Visually they can be very appealing to some; but, techincally those watches that you see in the ADs don't have a movement to write home about...which doesn't meant you shouldn't buy one. But, when an AD will knock 33% off the MSRP it says something about how inflated the prices are and what they are actually "worth."

It looks like a Type XX knock-off, a watch made for the French air force in the 50's by various manufacturers, including Breguet. Take a look at the current Breguet Type XX models; the similarities are obvious.

Funny that Bell & Ross would model their 'diver' watch on a watch made for military pilots.

Hold on there... Significant AD discounts on Rolex and Officine Panerai are notoriously hard to get; does that mean their prices are less inflated and better represent the "worth" than, say, IWC?

Rolex won't get discounted as much because plenty of guys with their bonus check will come in and buy a Sub. Panerai won't get discounted because at any given time they might have only a few models in the store and the one you want would have to be special ordered...so why discount that when the demand is so high.

I wouldn't say IWC is "inflated." When I was talking about the discounts I was refering to Bell & Ross. A few months ago I took my Dad to Kenjo to look at the Bell & Ross selection. He ended up paying $2000 for a watch that had a sticker price of about $3,000.

But...look at the grey market on LuxuryBazaar or Essential-Watches. It shows MSRP and then what they would sell it to you for. Nearly everything is 10-30% lower...some of the Panerai sell through them for equal to or even a bit higher than their MSRP.

I think so too. In a day and age of watches appealing to the Walter Mitty in all of us that sure is a refreshing watch to see.

I guess it's different here in our parts. Save for Rolex and Panerai, ALL watches can be had with a hefty discount off the MSRP. I'm not sure though if the MSRP here would be the same as there in the United States. It's not unheard of to get a 30% discount here, and in my personal experience in Singapore and Hongkong. A preferred customer might even get something as high as 40% discount with a cash purchase on a very very good brand. Omega has recently pegged their maximum discount at 25%, while Panerais here had a 10% discount that was moved back at 5 a few months back.

Brother, if that is the watch that appeals to you then get it. It is quite inexpensive even for a B&R, and there's really not much choice brands that I would recommend at that price point, well maybe except the German brands (Sinn, Stowa, Nomos...)

Acidboy...where are you from?

Those sound like hefty discounts...are you certain they are authorized dealers? Just because someone is a grey market dealer they don't have to operate in some crummy little back alley shop, they can look VERY nice.
