I'd wear one regardless of whether it was Charvet or another brand, but the distinction would be that it had to be high quality.

I doubt there are even a lot of manufacturers making this sort of outdated style now.

If I were going to that sort of event I would wear:

Midnight blue tuxedo with chocolate brown grosgrain lapels
Light lemon yellow ruffled formal shirt
Brown bow-tie
Black patent leather opera pumps, preferably vintage Cleverley bespoke with large square buckles. Sort of looks like Roger Vivier.
A white gardenia

whatever you do, do not wear those red loafers and floppy bow tie. Think of poor Thom.

Those Charvet shirts should have studs, not buttons.

The pants kind of short and you'll see my socks in the loafers...so there will be some TB aspects to it.
