A good friend based in Paris wears nothing but Cifonelli. Please let me know if you have any specific questions, and I will pass them along to him.

Charvet prices?

When I was there in April I was told starting €3200 for Charvet. If you go the Charvet route, please post about the experience because I'm very interested in doing so myself.

Interesting, 3200 EUR is less than I thought.

I'm pretty sure that is what they said (but my French is a little poor). I guess the easiest thing is to just give them a call.

Charvet is around 3200 euro for flannel suits and 3700 euro for a 120's....
They're cheaper than Savile row ,believe me...

Cifonelli is 4700 euro...

Cifonelli cut is excellent and people i have talking to told me that the work is astounding...
Charvet ,i do not have any information except on their shirts...

In pounds, 2600 pounds roughly for Charvet or 3200 pounds for Cifonelli...
The price difference is justified by the quality of the work or the name?

Anybody with info on Cifonelli or Charvet bespoke suits ,please let me know because i 'm starting saving my money for one of them...

Charcoal flannel two buttons...

That's not bad for sur measure. One thing I heard (or read somewhere) is that they don't really have a house-style as it is up to the customer, so it is better to bring them a sample of something you like to work from.

Before you go to Cifonelli I suggest you visit Marc Deluca (Place de la Madeleine), Gabriel Gonzalez (Palais Royale), Charvet (tailor of Philippe Noiret) and Rovito (near Place Vendone.) If you do not find the object of your sartorial desire in one of these ateliers, then you can visit, by all means, Cifonelli. But if you are inside Cifonelli, ask to see Monsieur Claude Rousseau (ex cutter of Camps) instead! He has been teaching Cifonelli for years now with little success.

If you have a very steadfast spirit, go to see the very elegant Mr. Francesco Smalto (ex-cutter of Camps) and ask him to make you a real bespoke suit like he knows how to do. If you want a chance to meet him look for a small grey haired man wearing a suit in RAF or blue grey flannel. That man is Francesco. RAF blue is his signature.

There are many tourist tailors in Paris. My often unheeded advice is to avoid them.

My first aim or desire was to visit Charvet....
The all decorum and the Duke of Windsor persona are a bit behind this decision ..

After consulting my bespoke friends and reading a few articles on the subject ,Cifonelli was cited as the reference for the cut ,the skills and the quality of the altelier....

I'm still torn between going to Charvet and having a go or breaking the bank and spending 4300 euro with Cifonelli....

Charvt is cheaper but the tailor i was talking to in London told that Cifonelli is offering a better cut and finishes....

i will visit both and keep you informed....

Lasbar, no one is going to make up your mind but yourself. Go to Cifonelli since it's obviously where you want to go.
