I am going to start a chain of "top five" lists that are entertainment and culture related.

The next person to reply must do three things:

A: Agree or disagree with the previous poster's list.
B: Come up with a somehow RELATED (whether obvious or obscure) but DIFFERENT list than the one posted above you
C: It must be ranked and in order 1-5. One being the best/greatest/most etc. No "In no particular order" posts. That is cheating.

A: disagree - never heard of Akira and Back to the Future? Where's 2001? I also really liked Children of Men. The other three choices are solid.

Brian: Disagree, Hot Fuzz belongs above Spaceballs. Spaceballs is crap.

I can't tell if this thread is more High Fidelity or Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. Either way, i'm in.

Disagree w/ Brian. Hot Fuzz and Shawn of the Dead were never really meant to be parodies. I remember reading an interview he gave with the BBC where he stated that he was trying to avoid a Spaceballs type movie. Also, why no Blazing Saddles? Still though, great choices.

"Silent Movie" would have been in there instead of "Producers" and "Blazing" should be first. "Spaceballs" could go 4 or 5.

Top five films that take place in/around the middle/dark ages:
1. Braveheart
2. Princess Bride
3. Monty Python & the Holy Grail
4. Seventh Seal
5. The Adventures of Robin Hood

Note: This list is slightly based on how many times I can repeatedly watch a particular film; if it were based on cinematic "achievement," "Bride" would be gone and replaced with "Name of the Rose" and the list jumbled around a bit.

Any top five rug wearers that doesn't include Howard Cosell is a total sham.

1. His entire on-air relationship with Muhammad Ali, beginning with his support for Ali's conversion to Islam and his refusal to fight in Vietnam.
2. "Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!"
3. "There it is ladies and gentlemen, The Bronx is burning."

I would definitely have Million Dollar Baby on that list and the Ruben Hurricane Carter movie with Denzel W., even though it's probably not strictly a boxing movie. Cinderella Man was a great boxing flick too.
