I am discussing doing a MTO Edward Green with Tom of LeatherSoul for next year.

I have recently discovered this wonderful looking model called Sandringham, and was thinking about getting it in the MTO blue leather called Midnight Antique.

Here is the stock photo of this shoe.

Here is jcusey's photo of the Midnight antique MTO Dovers also done through Tom, to give you a sense of the color:

What do you think?
Double sole of course, but what last do you think this should be on, I dont know much about any other last besides the 606 and I happily will get it in that last. I dont think 888 will look good on a shoe like this and color as that last relegates itself to more formal elegant looks.

Any comments?

If you like that model and want to do something different, I would suggest a brown leather shoe with a brown suede apron. Blue shoes always strike me as very tacky.

Blue would be a better fit on a sleeker model.

I like blue shoes, but I don't think blue goes with that design. Maybe with a boot or a plain toe blucher.

If I were going to do something MTO in EG and wanted to go bold, I'd do one of there very light tan colors, like antique acorn.

The last time I checked, EG is only using Acorn Antique for 2-tones now due to the difficulty of working with the light color leather. Unless your name is APortnoy.

Tom, you make me blush.

Brian, I agree with the popular consensus here. Sandringham is a country shoe and should be done is in a like hide. Here's a photo of mine on the 202 in walnut country calf with a double leather sole.

Go for the blue in 202. Think of Rachmaninow ;-)

I don't like blue shoes in general but I think they still look much better as Dovers than they would as wingtips.

I wouldn't do Sandringham in midnight antique, but Chelsea is surprisingly attractive in that color:

Blue suede shoes would be more country. For the record, I agree with Will: the Sandringham should be brown.

Of course, I don't like blue shoes in general.
