Not exactly EG's . . . $25 in 1969 is about $130 based on the CPI to make the adjustment. Converse All-Stars ran about $7 in 1969.

The first shoe, the monk slipon, looks very similar to a pair of Grensons I have:

I like that the longwing is the "insurance man shoe."

Those SA prices were close to 1966 retail prices. During that period $25-35 would get any leather shoe sold in America. Since the dollar was alot stronger back then, I bet EG and Lobb were in that same price range or less. I know Bally's were less than $35 in my area. In 62, All-stars were $6.99 (layaway for $1) in my area. Most men only paid $7-15 for their dress shoes.

Those shoes are very elongated. Are they G&G MTO? I pity the animal who's fur was used to create this abomination.

I didn't think it was possible to make shoes that ugly... Someone must have consciously thought "how can we make the ugliest shoe the world has ever seen?"

Wow, I didn't know they were from Brockton. My grandmother and her sister were from there and worked in shoe factories for a bit when they were young.
