I never looked at another item, picked up the shoes, went to the counter
Mistake, where there is one thing there are almost always others.

This is my experience as well. Do yourself a favour and go back.

Yeah you forgot to do the Vass-Lobb Cradle, ie protect the first found item within your arms as if a running back in football, then proceed to quickly but thoroughly survey the room for related items.

I've always admired the quality and variety of the items you post. I may have had one lucky find but, it seems to me, your finds are more consistent over a long period of time..

^Thanks for the kind words. I can certainly say that thrifting isn't $2 Lobbs every day, but you should bask in this success.

The Charvet and these Lobbs--as our veteran thrifters commented above--may be the tip of the iceberg on this haul. Is this particular store a stand alone or is it part of a chain? If it's a chain you might want to scout out its sister stores and pay a visit. The items from this donor could have been indescriminately spread over all of them from a central distribution center.

Once again, very nice find tonylumpkin. Lobbs are rare enough, but a pair which doesn't appear to have ever seen a foot (even fleetingly) and in a popular size with trees is something else entirely. I agree with the others that there may well be more at the thrift.
Here are a few of my latest finds.
Navy blue micro-herringbone Kiton suit; 3/2 sb w/ twin vents. I found the jacket first, but it took me another thirty minutes or so to find the pants which were priced separately. In my least tolerant moments I hate this sort of lazy behavior on the part of the thrift store staff. But then I remember just how much laziness is our friend. A very useful suit, I suppose, if a bit sedate. The price, however, was right. Let's just say I got back some change from a 10 and a 5.

Ferragamo Tramezza lizard loafers. Well, why not? I actually really like these shoes. They're the first Tramezzas I've seen in person and they do seem to be very nicely made. Classic Florentine split-toe style and the lizard is a nice twist.

Finally, a couple of T&A bespoke shirts. I really like checks. These have the classic three-button cuff and are nicely darted in the back. Dig the pattern matching. As luck would have it they fit great. The first one is Sea Island cotton. $4.25 each.

Fall is in the air. Happy thrifting everyone!

I would definitely wear those loafers, don't look like a thrift store compromise at all. Rock on.
