Here's the link to the Ebay Auction. It's at $11.72 now and closes Sunday (today), 8-12-07 at about 7:00 PM. Should be a good deal on a Bespoke Greenfield suit.

I had been tracking that one for a while--got worried when you outed it on B&S. But I grabbed it for a decent price of $50. I'm worried about two things: "light surface wear" on the trousers and being made in '86. Let's hope neither one detracts too much from an otherwise great looking suit (especially for the price).

Well, I'm glad that you won. And the price wasn't driven too high.

Let us know what you think when it arrives.

Lands' End has some interesting stuff for fall on clearance. I haven't seen this stuff in person, so I can't speak to the quality, but I assume it's typical Lands' End. And if you don't like it, you can return it to any Sears. LE has a great return policy. Silk knit ties for $12.99-$19.99 in burgundy, gold and my favorite, mustard: http://www.landsend.com/pp/SilkKnitN...?CM_MERCH=SRCH I snagged one of the mustard -- I'm hoping it will be the quirky color I've been hunting for. And I like the 2.75" width. Five pocket cord jeans for $19.99: http://www.landsend.com/pp/5pocketCo...?CM_MERCH=SRCH Moleskins for $19.99: http://www.landsend.com/pp/PlainFron...?CM_MERCH=SRCH There's some other stuff if you poke around ... Best of all, if you call and tell them you have the "Thank you" source code, they might give you free shipping. The offer was supposed to be valid until Aug. 17, but it's apparently been cut off if you order online. The folks at LE, though, are pretty nice about it. Probably worth the toll-free call. The PIN is 417360738.

Here's a chance to win a pure cashmere Brioni suit for about $75.00. The problem is that it comes with 4 or 5 Jos. Banks suits also, and the seller is not too knowledgeable or responsive.

Here's the suit:

And here's the Ebay Auction.

I Emailed the seller to see if I could bid on only the Brioni suit, and he could keep the Jos Bank items. And instead of $45.00 shipping, I offered to pay $15.00 shipping.

Here is what he replied:

"We'll take the suits to good will if they don't sell a s a lot. We're so busy to fool around with these. The description states what's in the Brioni suit. As you know, the suit is worth a lot of money. The auctions is as stated. Thanks for your interest. If the auction goes for a little, the whole lot goes with it.

I've decided to pass on the auction, but it obviously could be a deal for someone if they want to take a chance.

These are more likely a 44R than a 38R, the way I read this. The pants are 36 or 38; the only confirmed jacket size is a 43, which would be consistent. The fact that the pants are buttoned for suspenders suggests a lower drop too.

Also note that the Brioni slacks are dark grey so it is not a suit.

Good point, but he says that the slacks are soft gray (whatever that means) and not dark gray.

It will be interesting to see what this lot goes for. The high bidder is from Germany too. Shipping costs will be interesting too.

I sniped this and was left in the dust. I suspect 2-3 others here bid as well. My reasoning was that brioni might be nice and if it wasn't, I could donate the whole lot and take a tax deduction that would pay for the lot.
