I'm also a fan of steam punk. Some of those devices are really beautiful, but the guy's persona definitely borders on tacky. That said, if I had disposable income I'd purchase one of those keyboards.

Wow, I didn't expect any fans of Steam Punk on SF. I've been thinking about it all day.

I thought you would like them. I don't think I want to cover this up.

I like the steampunk aesthetic, but have a hard time imagining it working well in real life. Seems like you'd need an immersive environment. What's the point of building a steampunk computer to sit on your Ikea desk in your one-bedroom apartment built 10 years ago?

I wouldn't mind a small private den done up entirely in the aesthetic, though. Lots of dark hardwoods and brass.

Awesome. I have a strange mix surrounding me, and have slowly been de-teching it. I am sufficiently geek enought to also like a techno-minimal look, so I don't want to deny tech its place, but it is too cheap, and too disposable, and too wasteful in its current incarnations.

Huntsman

Yeah, while I like the designs it does seem rather odd to pay a premium just to be sent back to the Stone Age, or at least give the appearence of such. Perhaps I'll just drool over those lamps in the meantime.
