Actually, that's not Elvish. That's Mordorish, or whatever. The letters are Elvish, however.

Yes, I know the books well enough to know that. But no I would not get them tattooed on my arm (or anywhere else).

The script is ancient Elvish; but, yes you are correct that which is spoken is an evil language of Mordor that was so unwelcomed to the Elves because of its perversion that when Gandalf speaks them at the Council of Elrond they cover their ears in agony.

Plant named his dog Strider and "Misty Mountain Hop", "The Battle of Evermore" and "Over the Hills and Far Away" all have some reference to Tolkien in their lyrics.
