I got a shine last week in the men's department of Nordstroms on my new AE Tauntons. $3.00, which is less than I pay in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The people at the AE store recommend that I go to the shine stand at the Intercontinental Hotel next door, but there was no one there.

Going rate is $3 (scaling up for boots, etc) ...so all in a "fin" takes care of it.

2.00 at Milton's on Monroe. Never been there, but I just walked by the sign about 10 minutes ago.

$6 plus tip
If you leave shoes they wrap them green paper and bag them to go.
Great shaving oil/creams etc. also.

Nordstroms
$2.50 plus tip

Despos has been keen on someone new but I forget the details.

Sounds like there is no citywide standard, such as prevails here.

Truffit and Hill is fairly detailed with its shine. Also, it's a complete gentleman's barber with pricing to match.

Why? Are you trying some form of price arbitrage b/w NY and Chicago shoe shines?

He's taking a vacation and wants to know if he should bring his shine box.

No more shines. You been away a long time. They didn't tell you. I don't shine shoes anymore.

This was on the cable a few weeks ago, like frakking baby with the teletubbies, I was stuck in front of the TV for hours. Then I ate some Italian food...

Where can I get shirts with those long Scorsese goombah collars? Just for fun I'd like to have one.
