Nice, never seen those "˜Cricket shoes' before.
Superb UK maker based in London but shoes made in Northampton, UK
Has anyone mentioned Oliver Sweeney? Some of the best. Check it out at www.oliversweeney.com.
Can't attest to the suspicious leather phenomenon, except that you never quite know with ebay. Oliver Sweeney's are made by hand in Britain, and of the finest Italian leather. You may want to double check, but hey, at least they're comfortable. Take a look at the Sweeney website - their's are great looking.
They are very comfortable, have a suspicious looking leather grain and are 'Made in Belgium'.
In the last twenty or so years, Oliver Sweeney (formerly of Alan McAfee) has had his shoes produced about everywhere. He started off with classic English styles, made in England, then by Ambiorix in Belgium, moved to South Africa (and probably a few more countries).
