that sounds too small. You are saying that a jacket labelled for sale to a man with a 40 inch chest measures only 38 inches in the chest?

jml90:

lie your jacket flat on its bottom, measure the distance between two armpits. that's the chest measurment.

lie your jacket flat on its front, measure the distance between two shoulder yokes on the top.

sleeve measurement is from shoulder yoke to sleeve end

jacket body measurement: bottom of the collar (or top of the collar) to jacket buttom measured from the back.
