I've never been a fan of buying clothes/shoes on ebay since there are so many fakes. Add fakes to the inability to return most things and I've rather avoided eBay as much as possible.

interesting. i think the key is to buy things you know - for example, i buy a lot of Allen Edmonds because i know what they look like in reality and would easily be able to tell if they're fake or not. i don't think anybody has really tried to fake a large quantity of Allen Edmonds.

obviously, if you are inexperienced, ebay can be troublesome. but if you know what you're looking for and buy quality items which are rarely faked as well as being difficult to fake, ebay is a great way to go.

Whereas something like mall-brand denim is tricky (thinking of 7FAM, COH, etc), because the actual quality of the jeans isn't much better than a pair of $20 jeans.

I've found that to be untrue. I have purchased many $20-50 jeans in the past that have worn and faded quickly and deteriorated and/or ripped easily while the $80-200 pairs usually last much longer and their looks last much longer, which is most important.

Those Paul Smith Brogue boots look too good to pass up on.

Strange: Website has them up at £119; when I added to basket, the price changed to £179.

Edit: Size 10(UK) Cost £179; all other sizes are £119. Very odd.

Quite a few of us here have them as well, and I think each fella would agree they're the business.

and that's a good price at $240 (shipping would prolly be around $30-40 extra)

In my experience the lesser known brand Duffer of St. Georges upper range of footwear include a few boots and brogues that are very nice. Having compared them side by side with PS I would venture to guess they use the same maker. The Duffer boots are usually a little cheaper than PS and are more often still there when the sales come.

Just a tip

I think the brown fabrics are 119 and the leather 179?

Most of the leather sizes cost £119; sizes 8 and 10, for some unknown reason, are £179 though.

Yeah, those boots are awesome. I've got the black leather ones. I'd probably buy them in brown if they had my size :p

They leather boots cost £179. If you try to, for example, put the leather boot size 9 (which according to the site is £119), it won't work. The sizing seem to be for both leather and fabric, the ones for £179 is leather.

I think. I tried to buy the leather size 9 boot, but couldn't.

edit: I still plan to get the black leather boots for £240 though.

I hope they're worth retail!
