Chestnut defeats Kobayashi! What an upset. Its like a real life Rocky story... America once again regains the prestigious world hot dog gluttony title! Chestnut broke his own record and defeated Kobayashi 66 to 63 hot dogs (in twelve minutes). Was Kobayashi's injured jaw an issue, an excuse, or a non-event? Congrats!

They need to start a World Series for eating the most and not eating the quickest. See if anyone can beat those Japanese champions.

Wasn't there a Star Trek episode where there was some kind of space anomaly called the Kobayashi effect? Maybe it had something to do with hot dogs.

The amazing thing was that Chestnut pulled ahead of Kobayashi in the last minute. He ate 6 in 60 seconds, actually picking up steam, while Kobayashi flagged. Yeah, definite Rocky material here. U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A.
