Stardust (out end of August i think)

the novel by Neil Gaiman is one of the best stories i've ever read and hopefully the movie will capture at least 1/5 of its charm and magic

Until the Dark Knight comes out the Blade Runner final cut is all that matters.

Movie right now: Go Go Tails Abel Ferrara (King of New York (1990), Bad Lieutenant (1992)) Movie of the year: Control A profile of Ian Curtis (Riley), the enigmatic singer of Joy Division. If Wong Kar Wai ever directs Shu Qi, that too.

I'm surprised this one isn't getting more recognition:

Not really dying, but there hasn't been a mob movie out in ages so I hope "Brooklyn Rules" is at least a good one.

I think you could safely argue that The Departed was a mob movie.

Touche. How could I forget.

BTW, I saw Infernal Affairs for the first time the other night. Had a different ending altogether.

I'd like to see the next Bourne movie. I was pretty impressed by the first two.

One I'm definitely not interested in seeing is The Simpsons movie. They haven't made a funny episode in ten years and I'm not paying not to laugh at a movie.

Bratz the movie. It's a live action movie based on the dolls about four lifelong ethnodiverse friends who get into cliques, but discover that they only need themselves. A few friends and I are going to go, and mock it MST2K style. There may or may not be alcohol involved beforehand.
