Could a suit be more wrong than this one?

Thoughts on this latest suit posted by the Sartorialist as the ultimate in good style? His sycophants are lapping it up.

Tassle loafers with a suit

Decent haircut though, very clean.

Bustin' a straight up SoCal on the socks.

The fit of the suit is good. Not fond of the peaked lapels, not fond of the pattern, not fond of the shirt collar, and I think it makes his shoulders look feminine... but other than that.. (Edit: EL beat me to it.)

Is lack of collar stays stylish also?

I do like the button stance and the ticket pocket. The lapels just dont work and seem to kill tehn entire balance of the suit. Also the trousers, for me, seem to be way to tapered for the jacket and lapels.

I love everything about it with the exception of the collar, and that still doesn't bother me that much.

I am curious why you feel that way? I think 2 button peak lapels are very elegant. I am going to wear a 2 button peak lapel jacket to my wedding as a stroller.

Like:
-trouser length
-trouser slimness
-fat trouser cuffs
-overall fit of jacket
-color of glenplaid
-mix of brown/blue

Dislike:
-uber wide peak lapel
-linen fabric
-shoes
-lack of socks
-shirt collar

overall I like more of it than I dislike

Nice pattern on the linen.

I`m not a fan of the 2b peak cut either, but I don`t think that`s the problem with this suit. It`s the other stuff that ruin the suit, like the sloppy shirt, tie, weird pocket square, flower, bracelet, no socks, tassel loafers, cheap sunglasses, and finally bald head.

The collar on the jacket looks way too wide/open too.

Another against the 2-button peak. I felt that way myself and still do sometimes. I don't think I would wear one as a normal suit but what about special occasions, like weddings? Do you prefer one-button peak? I really prefer one-button notch, even for formal occasions. However I found a real steal on a 2 button peak, so I am trying to make myself love it and you guys are not helping

I'm not a peak lapel fan, certainly not when they're that wide but it could be worse.

A ticket pocket on a linen suit suggests going a little option overboard and I just don't get the Thom Browne pant length + no socks.

Maybe I'm not discrerning enough but I like the fit of the jacket and the look of the shoulder.

The lapel roll just doesn't look right to me.
