What is a surcingle belt? Is that a ribbon belt? If so, it's trad.

Tying the tie so that the rear blade is longer than the front is Neapolitan. Matt has become quite affected from his sojurns, hasn't he. I bet he drinks espresso and says "Cia bello" after he burps now, too.

ahh, but I learned this little affectation out at lunch with Will in San Francisco. I do drink espresso, but do not say Ciao Bello, unless I am suggesting the best place for ice cream in the Ferry Building.

In Naples they do not wear ties, rather they stuff them in their chest pockets.

Can you be both trad and Neapolitan simultaneously?

no, it is a particular weave that resembles a seatbelt.
