Constructive opinions welcome with possible other watches of a similar style to check out. I really like the late 60's Breitling Navitimer, but I'd have to wait for my father to give his up I think!

To be fair to gld, his post was no less constructive/informative than the one to which he was responding...and you did ask what people thought of it.

Don't the pink glasses automatically make you artsy though?

Nice combo Marrakesh. Black ostrich straps are pretty unusual. I'd like to see a better shot of the strap if you have one

Leicas aren't necessarily that expensive. A new one is, but a used or vintage one can be had for under $2000.

The top one is new. The result of a recent trade in of a platinum JLC that I had grown bored of. I also have a vintage AP that is in for service.

Please let me know if you ever want to get rid of this watch. I think it's just about perfect as far as handwound time-only dress watches go; my only (minor) quibble is that the movement is a bit small compared to the case. I prefer it to the Lange 1815 and AP 3090.

The watch I'm wearing today:

An 18kt gold Omega on an ostrich strap. The dial is much more interesting than it looks in pictures.
