I don't think it's so bad, though it's not my taste (I'm not a bling guy). There's certainly much worse, like the Buddy Holly special a couple of posts up. *Shudders*

I don't know too much about watches, but that one's a beaut. Is it vintage?

Yes, I think it's from the '30s or '40s (?)

More likely teens or twenties. Maybe thirties, definitely not forties. It also looks like an officer's watch.

You all have wonderful watches and I conclude from this thread that we have a lot of real watch lovers here. Maybe one of them is a lawyer with some free time....
Patek with quite some complications for 229$?

They openly state that all of those are replicas, maybe it's a bad joke, but I can't stand that fake ****.
Consider that it is so obvious that everyone who orders there somehow intentionally damages the makers reputation.

I don't think anyone's posted one of these yet. My favorite watch: IWC Portuguese Automatic w/ 7 day power reserve, stainless steel, 42mm diameter.

How the heck do you wear that on your small wrist? I try to stay under 40mm at all costs

You think that's big--its stablemate is a Big Pilot.

The Portuguese actually wears smaller than its diameter would suggest. The thin bezel and an open dial help a lot.

What made you opt for the black dial?

Great watch, btw. The 5001 in silver will be my next.

Why the black dial? I don't like the blue numerals on the silver dial and I've always associated IWC with black dials. To me, the red accent of the power reserve indicator is perfect on the black background. Like a Leica rangefinder.
