Some people do, and there is nothing wrong with it. However, we are talking about dress shirts here. Polo here indicates the brand, not the type of shirt.

European slim is like... try a Paul Smith mainline shirt (400 dollars ones) in your normal sizing and tell me how slim it is. Or a Gucci mainline shirt (800 dollar ones), talk about second skin.

And most of those who are not overweight have the "healthy" habit of pursuing extensive muscle building workout which also lead to fitting problems. See example above of 41" chest & 28" waist.

I love the cut/shape of the collar and, for an English produced shirt, has a loverly roll and has, in my opinion, the all important third button! The few I have bought have fitted me perfectly what with the tapered body and slim cut sleeves. Made with quality Italian cloth. They also provide RTW, MTM and a bespoke service..

The shirts look OK, but the website seems make the elementary ebay seller's error of confusing of confusing the cm measurement on the tag for a chest size. Therefore they say that their medium sized shirt, which has a 15.75 inch neck, is for people with a 39 or 40 inch chest.

What is the chest measure of their shirts really?

I'm not at that level, but I am a 36-37" chest with a 29-30" waist...and slim, at that. Finding shirts in the US that fit well is like

I wanted to revise my last post because I was in the Polo store last night trying on clothes before the Private Sale. I tried on some Custom Fit oxfords and long sleeves and they were like tents. So much flowing material in back I felt like I was standing on an air vent. The best part was the salesman told me I could have the shirt "darted"

Hugo Boss slim fit shirts with the square black label are the best i've found OTR. Most are darted, and they fit my 44" chest/34" waist frame very well.

Their highest quality shirts are made in Italy, but the quality of those made in Hungary or Malaysia is fine, too. Of course, at $200 retail they're not the best deal, but they often go on sale for at least 33% off.

Hmm...I can find some of these and might give a more thorough look.

I really like Thom Browne, Band of Outsiders, APC, and particularly Hickey (the STYLE line). Hickey shirts fit me perfectly (though maybe a tad short with the arms).

I agree with Laywerdad that finding slim shirts when you have long arms is very difficult. Sizing down is not an option really.

There's really more options with the more 'fashiony' labels as someone mentioned.

I know my personal favorites are not popular choices here on SF, but I favor Theory dress shirts. I'm 6'0", 38" chest and fairly slim (although not heroin chic); their shirts fit me well, and with a little patience, I can always find them on sale. Certainly, they're not conservative business dress, but that's not a concern for me.

I find HUGO Hugo Boss can also work. John Varvatos Star USA is okay. So is RL Polo, but their fabric choices in the slim fit are usually heinous.

Does anyone wear Martin Margiela? I have long arms and a fairly slender frame; the narrow shoulders fit me quite well. The arms are slimmer than any other shirts I have and, unlike most other RTW sleeves, are long enough for me to show cuff.

Hey, so do you buy M or L? Im 6'3" and a 38" chest. Ive tried on some Theory sweaters and theres nothing good about the fit, couldnt tell if they were M or L or XL. I havent tried on their dress shirts though, as theyre usually overpriced, even when on sale at outlet stores. (or maybe im poor
