He had a few chances to get profound or funny, but he blew it.

What happened to the shoe pictorial index sticky? Before the first server move it was slow but still worked. After the first move, it's fast and worked smoothly but after the latest move, it doesn't work anymore.

I don't know what's up with that. I'm trying to figure it out. At the moment, you can at least view the cached version on google.

And the archive version still works, so at least we haven't lost the info. If we need to paste it into a new thread, we can do that.

I can add tags to old threads, and I'm going through and doing that when I have spare time. The idea of the tags is to create another way to browse through the forum that can help with topics that are hard to search for.

For example (not relevant to our forum, but an example given on another forum) one forum is for doctors and has topics tagged with 'hand' when it's about hand issues or surgery. This is beneficial because if you search for "hand" it brings up many irrelevant threads.

Plus it's cool once a lot of threads have been tagged to go to the tag 'cloud' page here:

http://styleforum.net/tags/

and the ones that are more frequently used get bigger, like the tagging in Flickr and some other sites that use a similar system.

J, do you know what happened to the shoe pictorial index? It's been inaccessable for at least 2 days. Is it fixable? Or is it available to paid subscribers only?

J, somehow the links on the Google cache verson don't work with imageshack, while the links on the archive version are not clickable. I have index backed up, do you want me to repost it as a new post on the original thread (new members or lurkers may not know where to look) or to start a new thread. You can always remove the new thread/post once the original thread is fixed. I don't want to mess up with the server with the new thread or post.

I think it's possible that the first post just got too big. If you want to start a new thread and split it across multiple posts, that might be the best thing.

BTW, I may have a photo gallery hack coming soon, so this might be able to be all thumbnailed and searchable, etc. But for now, a new post might be the best idea.

Ok, I'll start a new index thread but split it into 5 posts: EG, JL, C&J, Vass & others. What's that thumbnailed, searchable gallery you're brewing?

Why was the thread about decent shoes in Target stores obliterated?

Sorry about that guys - I think that was sort of single-handedly my fault...was going to check on it when I got back but I guess it's better left buried...

Sorry once again.

Mostly just more drunken posting. This stretch is a while longer so he can reflect on whether he feels he can shape up.
